How Payments Work

Civic_Goodway doesn't hold or move your money — it verifies sellers, lists items, and tracks who owes what. Here's exactly what happens when you buy or sell.

For Buyers

You pay the seller directly — by Mobile Money or cash on delivery, exactly as you would buying from any independent seller. Civic_Goodway does not collect your payment or hold it in escrow. The platform's job is to verify the seller is a real, phone-verified person before you buy, so you're not sending money to a scam listing.

For Sellers

You collect payment directly from the buyer. Separately, you owe Civic_Goodway a 5% commission on each sale — except the platform's first 100 sales overall, which are commission-free as a launch promo. You send that commission yourself via Mobile Money to +233547578672 (Samuel Bimpong Asamoah), and an admin confirms it arrived.

If a sale's commission goes unpaid for more than 7days, it's flagged overdue: you'll be blocked from posting new listings until it's settled, and repeated non-payment can get your seller account suspended.

Sellers: protect yourself before you ship

Because the buyer pays you directly, Civic_Goodway can't verify that any specific payment actually happened — that part is between you and the buyer, the same as it would be selling on any classifieds site. Please be careful:

  • Confirm the money is actually in your Mobile Money wallet — check your own balance or transaction history directly. Don't rely on a screenshot or SMS a buyer shows you; these can be faked, and a transaction can be reversed or fail even after a confirmation message.
  • Don't ship until payment is fully confirmed on your end.
  • Be extra cautious with buyers who pressure you to ship immediately, ask you to skip payment confirmation, or offer to pay a different way than what you agreed.
  • Keep a record of the delivery (this app's delivery-proof photo feature exists partly for this reason) in case a dispute comes up later.
  • If something feels wrong about a buyer or an order, you can message them in-app first, and raise a dispute or contact admin rather than proceeding.
